The university is shortly halting their employees’ capabilities to make online changes into their direct deposit bank accounts. BU will use such a moratorium to reinforce itself from internet hackers and scammers who’ve recently stepped up into their way of attacking online transactions. Employees who want to change any of their banking information will have to go through their payroll department in order to make necessary changes to it. According to Quinn Shamblin, the Executive Director of Information Security, instructions on those processes have been rolled out to their payroll coordinators. On the other hand, Shamblin said that they’d be installing technical protections and controls against phishers. For more information about this, check out the source.
