Just recently, the IDG News Service reported that cybercriminals attacked home routers that were done hacking ones DNS settings in order to cut off user connections, allowing them to have access to their personal banking sites. According to the researchers from a Polish agency, the Computer Emergency Response Team or CERT Polska, hackers will attempt to launch a worldwide attack in the coming days. They believe that this will be done using the same techniques. Based from what they have found out, these are all possible due to vulnerabilities of home routers making DNS settings defenseless from unauthorized modifications remotely.
