In observance of the Cyber-Security Month this October, FCC, in collaboration with South Carolina Department of Public Affairs issued security tips for small-scale businesses. Among the security tips include training employees the principles of security and cybersecurity policies, protecting valuable information by using security software, using firewall for a secured internet connection, designing plans to secure mobile devices and setting up back-up copies of important business documents and information. The agency also urge businesses to establish user accounts for all employees who access computers, secure Wifi connections and use the most secured payment cards. The last but not the least, businesses must secure their passwords through authentication.
