On FCC’s official website, it noted that that one’s ability to connect and contact 911 using text messages is only made available through a limited basis.  Data shows that text messages have a very limited capacity in reaching 911. For that reason alone, one should not rely solely in text messages to reach the emergency hotline. For more information, go to the source.
