People have shifted to online banking because of accessibility, convenience and practicality. On the other hand, it also opens an avenue for online crimes such as cyber hacking and information phishing
To help fight these online crimes, the Minnesota Department of Commerce encourages online users to ensure that their banks use multifactor authentication, a security measure that requires users to enter their passcodes twice or more before they will be able to access an account. It is also advised to use strong passwords and ensure that your device is secured with an antivirus. Avoid suspicious communications asking for your banking information. Lastly, observe your bank account and log off after each session.
